January 25th I lost my little piglet Dino. I had no idea it was going to happen, he was just a little guy but he just died for no reason I could see. He ate, was lively and chipper as ever. I was nervous however cause on Christmas day when I got him my cousin told me the shop he came from housed him with rabbits, I immediately thought, oh no. But then just thought, keep an eye on him and go from there.

Nothing seemed wrong with him at all though, so things seemed good till the Sunday...

Sorry for the lame title, but thinking about what I should call this blog, that is the song that popped into my head. Anyways, I just wanted to give an overview of all my care techniques (most of which I've learned from this site and the people on it). It's not meant to brag or instruct, but just to share and get it all off my chest. When my kids go to bed and the house gets really quiet, the pigs starting zooming and popcorning. I love the sound of happy pigs.

So as I write this I just ran outside to take some pictures of a deer family! The cutie was staring RIGHT at me while I took his picture...almost like he was posing!

My dog was just sitting on the arm of the chair watching out t he bay window. One of the rare moments she's quiet then...BOOM! She's off like a rocket barking at the deer. She fell coming off the couch and that quieted her down!

So I ran outside in my huge manly sweats (very attractive!) into the foot...

Now, I'm not trying to justify buying guinea pigs from pet stores as good, or better than adopting from a shelter. What I would like to say though is that I can't help but notice peoples hostility on this site, and others, when it comes to people who have bought their piggies from a store. Your snobbery is childish and very inconsiderate. People need to take into account that not all of us live with a guinea pig shelter in our areas, or even in our towns.
